    <description>&lt;P&gt;You won't be able to while they're still Xref-dependent, with the "pipe" character separating the drawing name and the Layer name.&amp;nbsp; You would need to Bind the Xref first.&amp;nbsp; &lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;XR&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt; for the &lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;CLASSICXREF&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; command, select the Xref in the dialog box and the &lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Bind...&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; button on the right.&amp;nbsp; If you're going to merge the Layers, it doesn't matter whether you choose the "&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;Bind&lt;/FONT&gt;" or "&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;Insert&lt;/FONT&gt;" option.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Then go into the Layer Manager, select all the appropriate Layers, right-click, and:&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;IF&lt;/STRONG&gt; you want the Xref to remain one, so that changes in the source drawing will be reflected in the current one, then I would suggest you assign the same color and whatever properties to all the Xref-dependent Layers.&amp;nbsp; Then they will all look the same, as if merged, &lt;EM&gt;except&lt;/EM&gt; for any individual objects with property overrides.&amp;nbsp; To retain those properties in those Layers, rather than have them revert to the properties in the source drawing next time you open the drawing, set the &lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;VISRETAIN&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt; System Variable to keep them.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
