topic Using two different fonts (numbers) on same drawing in AutoCAD Forum

I am drawing steam locomotive cabside numberplates and smokebox numberplates at full size which I will reduce to 1:76 to finally produce etched brass numberplates for my 'OO' gauge model locomotives. However, the font I am using for the cabside numbers is Old Street Sign and the font for the smokebox numbers is Gill Sans Semi-Bold as used by the Great Western Railway and British Railways. I want both sets of numberplates on the same drawing as I will be creating a laser print which will be ironed onto thin brass sheet to allow etching. But I do not seem to be able to use more than one font on the same drawing without the first used font changing to the second selected font. The main issue, I believe, is that the fonts are part of the drawings and not dimension annotations.

Is there a way of using two fonts in this way on the same drawing?

Thank you.

You need to make a STYLE for each font.

Type in STYLE on the command line, make a style name, assign a font to it. Then do the same for the second style, give it a name, assign a font.

Thank you so much. It's been 14 years since I last used Cad, it's taking a time to get back into it!
