First of all, thank you all for taking the time to answer. I really appreciate your help.

I feel really embarashed now that I see the solution, because it's a very simple trick that I have used like a million times in the past, duh.

I was not really focused while drawing it, then I missed the solution which was just two clicks away and started overthinking it.

Hello everyone.

I have two inclied lines meeting at a Point O. The form an acute angle, say φ.

I also have a vertical line segment whose length is fixed, say h.

How can I place that vertical line segment in such a way that it just fits between the other two lines at points A and B (see image below), while maintaining its verticality and its length?

Mathematecally I know how this can be achieved and I could just type in the correct distances, but I would like to do that using snapping to be precise. I guess I will have to use some auxillary drawing objects such as circles, or lines, but I cannot think clearly at the moment, I am just stuch.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

K

Hi,

You can do that depending on your known distances by drawing circles . by those circles intersections with two inclined lines you can start by a proper osnap mode ( Int of ) draw your line .

Move the vertical line so that its end is at O (red line). Reference its top end to create an offset line (magenta) parallel to the bottom reference line. The solution (green line) is where the other reference line intersects the offset line.
