Units Setup in AutoCAD 2021

Hello,

I am struggling to figure out how to draw in cm on AutoCAD 2021. In the Drawing Units menu I set it to Decimal in Length Type and Centimeters in Insertion Scale. When I draw something it is not clear if its in cm unlike when I draw in inches/feet. When I convert it to inches/feet to check if the length is correct its way off.

You decide the units you want to have active, if you want to draw a line with 1 length and for you this line is 1cm then you have to set the units to "Centimeter".

If you want later to draw a line with 1 Inch length then you need to draw a line with 2.54 length as this is the conversion from cm to Inch.

Command _UNITS ... set the "Insertion scale" to "Centimeter" .. same can be done via system variable INSUNITS.
