I need to design a 'fill in' piece with a flat bottom and different heights at each corner so the upper face slopes. ideally I would like to specify each corner height to generate the upper surface.

Can I offer the following tip to get you working toward a solution...

Draw 3 lines in model space using 3D coordinates;

Example

Line-> 0,0,0 first point, 0,0,2 second point

Line-> 6,0,0 first point, 6,0,3 second point

Line-> 6,2,0 first point, 6,2,3 second point

Line-> 0,2,0 first point, 0,2,2 second point

Now use the Viewcube to change you perspective and notice the endpoints of the vertical lines. You can simply create a surface using those endpoint. The surface will have a tilt toward the left end of the frame that was represented by the 4 vertical lines. A surface generated on the bottom endpoints would be flat.

This is a very simplistic process of generating a tilted surface. Many other techniques are available but hopefully this will get you started and visualizing a basic method.

Cheers,

Blaine
