Hello 🙂
Please help me!

I do not understand why autocad is scaling my model when changing space back from paper to model space. Is there a way to stop this from happening.
I don't want "Objects were scaled by a factor of 1.00000000124562 to maintain visual". I just want to it be what it was drawn at in model space.

Much appreciation in advance!

Hi @Anonymous

In order to know why it's scaling the object with factor, you need to know what is annotation scale. It will scale the object with the factor "1" only when the viewport scale is set to 1:1 when moving from paper space to model space.

The reason why it scale the object is that to maintain the visual appearance after its been moved to paper space or model space.

For example if you draw a rectangle in modelspace of size 5x5 and then go to layout and create a viewport with scale 1:1 and then use the command "CHSPACE" , then the object will be moved to paperspace with scale factor of 1 and the rectangle will measure the same 5x5 in model space. Now if you change viewport scale to 1:2 and then use the command "CHSPACE" then the rectangle in paperspace will move the modelspace by scaling with scale factor of 2 since the annotation scale is set to 1:2 and now the rectangle in model space will measure 10x10 🙂

@vinodkl, Annotation scale and viewport scale are different things. They cannot be used interchangeably like you did in your post. The issue here is viewport scale. Annotation scale has nothing to do with it.

OP, set your viewport scale to 1:1 (or equal) and you problem will go away.
