Another benefit of using prefix / suffix is we can use MATCHPROP to quickly adding underline to multiple dimensions.

Also when we need add "COS" (check on sit) at end of the dimension, the fastest way is adding "COS" to one of these dimensions as a suffix, then use MATCHPROP to "brush" all other dimensions.

Does AutoCAD support Underline for the Linear Dimension Text?

If it supports, How could we create?

Please refer to the screenshot for example.

Hi,

Click on below image to see how by double click the dimension itself will achieve what you asked .

Yes AutoCAD supports Underline for the Linear Dimension Text.

All you need to do is update your dimension style settings as below:

Yet another way to do it [as if you need another way] is the method for underlining in plain Text, i.e. to edit in %%U [upper- or lower-case] in front of the content. Here, the upper one is what it looks like while editing, and the lower one is the result:

[This approach does not work as a prefix built into the Dimension Style definition.]

One consideration is that if you define the Dimension Style to have the prefix/suffix as @3wood suggests, all Dimensions using that Style will have their text underlined, which is certainly easier, if that's what you want, than editing each one. But if you will want some of them underlined but not necessarily all of them, use either @imadHabash's suggestion or this one.
