This odd behaviour has just started since I got a new larger monitor.

At the bottom of the screen there is a two line space, indicated by the red arrows.

When I finish a command and press enter, the two line space briefly changes to one line and then back to two.

This causes the main workspace to flicker as it resizes which is very annoying.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

If you right click on the model or any paper tab and select the "Dock inline with status bar" option does it fix the problem?

That sounded like a good solution.

However, when I do that, it does go down to one line, but as soon as I click in the drawing area, it reverts back to two lines.

same problem overhere, I have not found a definite solution yet but I manage it (for now) with:

options-display- layout elements -

then turn off : display layout and model tabs.

I just found 'the problem maker'

If you turn OFF dynamic Input and Infer Constraints (this because they are both the trigger) you will experience a silent screen 😀

Well, not sure what happened.

I turned off the model and layout tabs yesterday and continued to work.

This morning I launched AutoCAD, opened up a template and turned on the model and layout tabs to test Marianne's theory.

For some strange reason the tabs are now in line with the status bar and the problem has gone away.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll let you know if it starts happening again.

Hi Alfred,

That seems to have done the trick. Thank you.

That's a bit of an obscure setting. Where did you come across it?

>> That's a bit of an obscure setting. Where did you come across it?

With the growing status bar there was an issue that the screen started blinking ... everytime when the status bar splitted from one row to two rows, then back to one and so on (continuous).

Then Autodesk introduced this flag (as hidden system variable) which blocked the splitting.

(you'll find more if you search this forum for this system variable if you want to know more about the history)
