Looking for help clarifying @ symbol meaning

In some sample and test projects I come across the directions @8<270 (not the actually numbers as they vary). I'm unsure what the @ symbol is supposed to stand for here. Up till this point when I needed to input a coordinate I was instructed to just type something like 8,270 so I am not sure if this is an alternative way to input a coordinate.

The school I was taking the class through was not helpful at all in getting clarification and I can't seem to find any source that properly explains what this @ is and how it is applied.

I'm hoping someone can properly explain what this symbol is used for as I keep seeing it pop up in various examples and directions.

The "@" symbol is used when you want to specify the relative coordinates.

Another source from Help is >here<. Go almost halfway down to the section Enter Coordinate Values with Dynamic Input, and also farther down to the Pointer Input Settings dialog box.

@8<270 denotes a relative distance of 8 units & angle of 270 degrees from a given point.
