You most probably have created your dimstyle in your 'active' drawing.

To 'reuse' a newly created dimstyle you should create it in your template.

If your 'active' drawing is 'clean' (no other content except titleblock or drawingframe) you simply choose 'SAVEAS' an d change the 'files of type' to AutoCAD Drawing Template (*.dwt)
It automatically changes the output folder to your templates folder.

Make sure you 'set' this new template be be used when you open a new drawing.
QNEW or from Start tab.

QNEW is set from the options.

Start tab is activating/clicking the template so it is used when you click the 'new' panel.

After creating a custom Dimstyle, how can I SAVE it to be used in new projects?

Okay so I made a new dimstyle with colors, text size, font size, etc. and I saved it.

Why can I not access this dimstyle when I open a new project? Or if I close my existing one and re-open it, I cannot find the dimstyle I literally just created. It's like it only works for the current file until I decide to close the program.

If that is the case, HOW can I save a custom dimstyle and be able to use it for all of my future projects? The default dimstyle is horrible.

Thank you in advance! I am new to Autocad but this is just a silly feature.

That is exactly what I was doing and that solved my problem.

Thank you for this! Very simple fix.
