Set linetype scale in layer properties amanger

PREFACE:

One can set the lineweight/thickness from the layer properties manager. For the purposes of this example and screen shot I have set the lineweight to 0.2mm.

So now any object/line etc will have a lineweight of 0.2 (unless you manually change it from the properties palette).

I assume that by default line type scale is set to 1?

QUESTION

I would like to know if there is a way/option to set the linetype scale to achieve the same thing as setting the lineweight like I mentioned above?

(MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCLAE are set to 1)

I have set the linetype scale to 0.1 from the properties palette. Now does this mean that the 0.1 line type scale setting will apply to all line types in this dwg?
Is there another way perhaps throm >DIMSTYLE?

Yes to both. Unfortunately, there is no way to assign different linetype scales to different Layers. But you can assign different linetype scales to objects. So you can, for example, isolate a Layer, select everything on it [or do so in QSELECT without isolating it], and change the linetype scale of all the objects on that Layer in the Properties palette, all at once.

linetype scale is not properly working

The linetype scale is set in the layers box. When I go to plot, I use to be able to (in release 2018) see the different thicknesses of the lines. Now that I have switched 2023. The plotter or AutoCAD does not recognize this. I need some help please

The linetype scale has never been set in the Layer Manager.
You should be able to see a polyline's width in 2018 or any newer version.
To see the lineweight of a line LWDISPLAY must be set to 1.

As @TomBeauford said, linetype scale is not set in the Layer Manager, but it sounds like you may mean lineweight, which is a property of Layers. You can turn on/off that LWDISPLAY System Variable in the status bar:

Linetype scale can be set for the drawing, but also individual objects can have override values for it, via the Properties palette, a CHANGE command's Properties option, or a CHPROP command. Lineweight of individual objects can be overridden from their Layers' setting in the same ways.

The linetype thickness is set in the layer box. When I printed/plotted in 2018, you could see the thicknesses. When I plot in 2023, all lines are the same thicknesses. Is there a change in release 2023 that will not let the line thicknesses show or plot?

Lineweight was added to the Layer Manager in the 2000 version, before that lineweight was controlled by your CTB file. There has never been a Thickness column in the Layer Manager, let go of that.
Many still use an CTB or STB with lineweight assigned to colors or plot styles.
Maybe you're using a different CTB or STB now than the one you were using with 2018?

Please use the right terminology. There is no such thing as "linetype thickness." What you're talking about is lineweight [the heading at the top of the column in the Layer Manager tells you that]. Linetype is about continuous vs. dashes-and-gaps-and-dots patterns vs. text/shape inclusions [a linetype can have both dash/gap/dot pattern and text/shapes]. Linetype scale affects the sizes of those elements [dashes, gaps, text/shapes] only in non-continuous linetypes. Thickness is up off the page, in the Z direction. Width is a characteristic of Polyline segments. Among those, only linetype and lineweight are part of the settings for Layers.

Sir our terminology is very different. I was asking about the width of the lines once they are plotted. Thanks! I will just make a new pen .ctb file.

When I first started this job, they were using the monochrome.ctb when they plot and also having

Thicknesses assigned to their layers………….

I will just make our own .ctb file……Thanks

If you liked how the CTB file you used in 2018 worked why not use the same one?
Please don't tell me you don't have it anymore and will never be able to plot any of those older drawing properly again.
You would have had to share it with anyone you shared the drawing with for them to be able to plot it correctly.

Might be worth considering using Autodesk-MONO.stb instead that allows you to set layers to plot Black, Color, or one of 9 grayscales. As it's installed with AutoCAD you never have to worry about loosing it or sharing it with others as they would already be able to plot your drawings correctly.

All drawn on the same plane:

With CTB plotting, lineweight as plotted = difference in color on-screen, but Polyline width will ignore that.
