Data link table

Hi All,

Can anyone please help me with this?

In the screenshot, generated tables using the same excel through data link on my computer and another computer, but my computer appears as small text and table size also mismatch. I have checked with fonts, table styles any many ways, but I can't sort out this.

Hi @janakaL6JKK,

That is unexpected. It kind of looks like an import setting could be affecting the scale. Can you check the Datalink Import settings are the same on both computers, as shown in this post?

Hi there. Just curious have you tried using the .xlsx file when you are in Excel? That's is the file format that I use when I Import drainage area maps, and hydraulic tables. I dont use the .csv file format

I'm using excel with the *.xlsx file for the data link. Not use *.cvs.

As post you have the tag, I can't access the text height of the tables (as per attached).

Most likely the cells are locked. Select the first cell on the upper left and hold down the shift key and select the last cell at the lower left corner. Then on the ribbon under format, there is pull down under Cell Locking, select unlocked. This will allow you to change all the cell heights at one time.

I don't need to do this manually.

I need to fix this issue to match the same table properties to other computers.

hmmm like a preset setting? I will say that when i bring in the data link it works just fine 95% of the time. The other 5% of times one or two are the wrong size so I have to manually change it back. I honestly dont know what causes for one or two cells to not work properly. I will have to look to see when you insert the table it can be set to unlock all set as a default.

I have used this table as many drawings for few years without any problem.

But on this new laptop (I hope) I got this error.

possible another option for you is to use the Insert Ole object and linked it to the spread sheet.

on your new laptop are you pointing to a company font folder under the Options/File tab?

To insert consistently sized tables, uncheck Use Excel Formatting for new data links.

Tables insert at different sizes in AutoCAD depending on the Windows text scaling setting

Alternatively, a cell style can be made from the original table and the new table can be matched to it:

Click a cell in an existing table.
Right-click > Cell Style > Create new style from cell.
Name and save it.
Click in the new table.
Select all the cells.
Right-click > Cell Style and pick the style.

This works well when the smaller cells are sizing up to fit the larger text style

This method works well, but the thing is I have to do this for each and every drawing by da today and It's very difficult.
