masked text doesnt work on some stuff

sometimes masked text work properly, sometimes masked text work partialy (some in the backgrounds hidden and some not) and sometimes masked text doesnt hide anything at all.

what do i do ?

*btw, is it possible to do "move above object" stuff over wipeout/marked text ?

Please provide the AutoCAD version and a graphic sample.

Also consider using the MTEXT mask option (use Convert Text to Mtext), instead of DTEXT masking (TEXTMASK).

After using the Express tool to convert to Mtext, apply a background mask from the properties.

Remember to use the DRAWORDER command if necessary.

I have seen 2 reasons with this

missing AutoCAD updates
using visual styles other than "2D Wireframe"

i cant convert anything. adding stuff, no problem. changing(like conversion) or removing existing stuff, that i cannot do.

i THINK objects that arent being masked are of type '2D Polyline'. other types are being hidden no problem.

still looking further to make sure thats true in all cases.

Why not: we don't need it all, we don't need your client or company names or project name, just a portion that shows the problem. Do you know how to do that with WBLOCK command?

someone shared a part of a dwg and got fired.

im not going to do the same.

anyway, wipeout wont hide 2D Polyline.

also Attribute Definition cant be masked, and hatch (for 'masked' effect) will always cover it. im trying to put it the attribute definition above it/front but wont change anything in the layout. in the layout it says in the back.

Otherwise, ask your manager the purpose of the Autodesk forum and how a portion of a drawing could provide better assistance to members of the company.

Can you at least post screenshots? We can't really help you other than noting you seem to have a DRAWORDER issue but nothing else.

And now you bring in the topic of LAYOUTs: huh?

ok, i did REA (the one thing i forgot to do) and it fixed eveything EXCEPT Attribute Definition problem.

REDRAW was the fix? Then it is still a DRAWORDER issue: fix it inside the block in your favorite block editor.

Are the attribute definitions set up a Multiline? that's necessary for background masking to work.

Has each person figured this out? I double checked the system classification, type, and name and all are accurate page, after I export my view to nwc all the fittings randomly select a shade!

I had a similar issue and the solution was to stop hardware acceleration. Then I updated the video drivers and all masks started working again. Quite strange indeed...
