topic Create Dimension Style from changed dimension in AutoCAD Forum

Hi everyone,

I have a question about creating dimension styles out of a changed dimension. I used to create dimensions by going into the dimension style window and creating a new one or changing an existing one with the properties I wanted.
Lately I've been changing the properties of a dimension directly in the properties window - that I always leave open beside my drawing - because that is way quicker than going into the dimension styles window, choosing the dimension style I want to change, then finding the property I want to change, changing it, saving it, and then looking in the drawing if the - for example - text size I chose is now the way I wanted it, etc etc. If I change the properties in the property window, I can see directly if the dimension looks the way I want it to.

But of course the problem is that there is then no Dimension Style for that dimension I just created. I have to use the match properties command to get other dimensions to look that same way as the one I changed.
The question: is there a way to create a dimension style from a dimension whose properties I changed in the properties window? I couldn't find a way to do that...

Just right-clic on the object. It is as easy as that !

It is in my language but it means "Save as a new style..."

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Right click doesn't work for me because I use it as enter or repeat last command button. But I changed the settings to find the option you mentioned and found that the direct command for it is AIDIMSTYLE.

Thanks for the help!
