X-Ref file shows circles which are not in the file used as the X-Ref when inserted into working file

I have an X-Ref file which has been purged. When I insert the file into my working drawing all these large circles appear in the file. I am unable to remove them. does anyone have a solution for this ?

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

The circles look like geometry of some sort, rather than an indicator from AutoCAD. I suppose they might be on a hidden layer in the Xref file, but are showing when referenced into your file.

Hi Cheryl,

The X-ref is actually a top view from a 3-D model inserted into a 2D CAD file as reference. There are no layers off/frozen. We have tried several options for eliminating the circles but they only show up when x-ref'd into the working file. We originally thought they were node points that came in at a much larger scale.

Our files are sensitive so i am unable to share them, sorry.

Looks more like GRAPHICSCONFIG problem.

Without access to your files it will be hard to diagnose from just a picture. Can you share? Use ETRANSMIT command to package it all.

Post a screenshot of your ABOUT command pop-up too please.

As these are not standard or easily identified objects, it will be very difficult to diagnose or provide additional suggestions without the files.

If you think they might be nodes, an EXPORTTOAUTOCAD of the Xref may help.

Apart from doing an AUDIT on all your drawings and having all your software UPDATES, consider turning off the "High Quality Geometry" by typing HQGEOM at the command line and setting it to 0.
