Hi,

Thanks. Its embarassing to say but new drivers sorted the issue.

With old drivers Turning off hardware acceleration helped but I believe you loose performance.

Also lowering resolution is not acceptable as this is why I have 4k monitor 🙂 To be able to use 4k resolution.

Thanks for help

Sometimes dissapears.

My machine: lenovo thinkbook:

I7-1165G7 cpu

16gb ram

8gb Intel Iris XE graphics.

See pic below for what is happening.

Have you installed all the AutoCAD Updates yet? ABOUT command should list more than just the basic version number. If not, get the latest from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates

Then... consider turning off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables: if still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort.

FWIW go through this set of tips too https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-crashing-with-Intel-Iris-Xe-graphics.html

Turning off hardware acceleration is more of a diagnostic procedure than a permanent solution. If it works, it's a good sign that its a graphics driver issue; either it needs to be updated, re-installed, or possibly even rolled back to an earlier version.

Something else to watch out for is mixing resolutions on displays. There's quite a few programs that will have problems with running displays of different resolutions e.g. I have one that cuts off the bottom and right side of the window when maximized on either of the two docking port monitors (16:9 displays) but doesn't on the laptop (16:10 display). Sometimes this can be fixed by not using the laptop display in combination with the external monitors.
