I have customized all the icons that I use the most on my ACAD desktop computer.

I would like to have the same display as what I see on my new CAD laptop. What is the name and location of the file that I can copy from my desktop and paste to my laptop to see the same icons, etc.?

Thank you in advance!!

Chris B.

Depends, how well organized were you with crating/storing your customizations?
Or did you just modify what was there inside AutoCAD and not much else outside of it?

This is the better approach for 95% of users https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-lt/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/AutoCAD-LT/files/GUID-5EDF557F-098A-4F81-8104-3F0890B5CCC2-htm.html

TIA

Thank you for your reply pandean!!!

All I want is to copy and paste the file where all my icons arrangements (on the desktop) are in one of the ACAD many files.

Your way is not a good one, but i know that you can't learn all at the same time.

We all gone the hard way.

We can not know what you edited.

You ask for a file and i am pretty sure to know one file which incl. the most stuff,

but o like to give a better answer for your situation:

On both machines the same autocad?

The search in windows for: Export custom setting&files

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-import-and-export-backup-settings-to-and-from-AutoCAD.html

Another tip

Search for a document

Autodesk University CUIX

or

Autodesk University customization or similar.

..the best way is to keep all standards,

create your own stuff and just add them.

This way you can also setup newer program versions in Minutes
