Printing with 'monochrome.stb' just eliminates all colours and even grey turns to black.

Where exactly is the problem located?

- Does it falsely still print colours and greyscales?

- Or are (the hidden) lines missing?

How is the result different without the usage of 'monochrome.stb'?

Would be very simple to answer, but without to know what you have (data ans settings), not the best base for questions like this.

Save the file while in Layout in question, Share DWG data, this way we can see the problem.

okay, first we talk beginner basics about using a plotstyletable,

but then we have to jump to the 3D corner.

1. Plotstyles

All of your 31 3Dsolids are set to plotstyle "ByLayer"

All Layers have set to plotstyle Normal

Plotstyle Normal color is set t o"use object color", which means "change nothing!"

(STB Plotstyle "Normal" is the standard plotstyle and which changes no one properties setting, all will plot as set up in drawing)

In Standard plotstyle table Monochrome.stb you have also another plotstyle named "Style1",

this plotstyle is set to print in color black!

Solution: Set all your Layers to plotstyle "Style1", that's the missing part.

2. Not all of your layout pagesetups are set to use the plotstyletable for a plot,

Check the "Plot with plotstyles" setting in Plot dialog or your Pagesetup

B U T

that was the basic knowledge part, but also if you have set up your objects an layer fine (to use the plotstyle Style1),

it will not work as expected. Why? Because the 3D - VISUAL STYLES are not compatible with plotstyles!

Solution: You ca set you layout viewports to use "legacy hidden" style for plot results.

Read this: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-architecture-forum/plotting-a-view-of-3d-model-hidden-visual-style-plots-in-color/td-p/8447372

Thank you for the beginner basics lesson.

I've been using AutoCAD for 33 years and never had any need to even look at plotstyles.

All things considered, I think it will be easier just to change all the layer colours to black and then just plot as normal.

😄 So also after 33years, new is new, logical. (But it is really a bit strange with this huge wealth of experience an a general function like plot)

>>"never had any need to even look at plotstyles."

"Need" and "possible very useful" are two things and the second you can only judge if you know it.

No need to use plotstyle is a very comfortable situation, good for you.

>>"All things considered, I think it will be easier just to change all the layer colours to black and then just plot as normal."

Yes! If you can go this way, do it!

Yes, I've only ever had to print what I see on my screen (WYSIWYG). So no need for plotstyles.
