I am really struggling with purging the last few unwanted dimension styles and text styles from the new template I am setting up. There are 2 dimension styles and 1 text style that I am unable to purge. Looking in the non-purgable objects menu:

the 1st dim style is being used by AEC_DISP_PROPS_STAIR_PLAN, AEC_DISP_PROPS_STAIR_PLAN_OVERLAPPING, AEC_DISP_PROPS_STAIR_PLAN_100 and AEC_DISP_PROPS_STAIR_PLAN_50. I managed to find the stair plan deep in the style manager under architectural objects. Which is really strange as we are not architects, we do no design work involving stairs whatsoever, so I have no idea what this default style is, how it got there, or why it is there. I went through the style manager and changed all the dim styles to the one I set up, and yet I still can't purge this dim style. It still shows up as being referenced as above. I also can't purge or delete this stair style. It's the only architectural object in the drawing. So, if you know how I can completely remove it that would be ideal. If not, I would be happy with just removing the dim styles from it so I can delete the unneeded style.

the 2nd dim style is being used by AEC_DISP_PROPS_DIM. I have no idea what this is, or where I can find it. I have gone through the settings tab in toolspace, item by item and made sure that all the old dim styles are not referenced anywhere. I've tried using the styles purge in manager tab, but that didn't work either.

the text style is being used in AEC_LABEL_COLLECTOR_STYLE. Similar to above, I have no idea what this is or where I can find it. I wasn't able to find much on google as to what a collector is, just that it was related to parcels and importing data. Again, going through the settings tab I've checked every single item to make sure it's not referenced anywhere and found nothing.

I can only attach 3 images, so here's a link to all 4 screenshots I took, if they'll help.

https://imgur.com/a/dimstyle-text-style-non-purgable-mSDtYr6

Thanks!

Have you tried using quick select and specifying the dim/text style?

There's nothing in the drawing, I'm setting up a new template. The only options I have in quick select are: Multiple, Parcel, and Tin Surface. The surface makes sense, I created 3 surfaces I want in the template. They are empty surfaces currently, users will add definition to them. I'm not sure what the Parcel is, but when I select all, it looks like it's related to my feature lines? No feature lines in the drawing currently, but I did set up custom feature line styles, and I did draw in a few feature lines as I was testing the styles, but I deleted them afterwards.

These are the steps I took to get rid of the following non-purgeable items:

(2) Dimension Styles: A2.5_P3_Anno & ISO-25

(1) Text Style: _Civil 3D Proposed

FYI: I'm only partially successfully mainly because I do NOT have a number of your Linetypes such as: PL, SAN & UTIL_* But since you do have all these Linetypes then you should not run into this kind of problem.

So I'm providing you with the following steps I took so you can replicate them in your drawing environment with those Linetypes:

1. Open 241218-Site_Development_Template.dwg

2. Open Layer Properties Manager

3. Set Layer 0 current

4. Click on the icon to start Layer States Manager

5. In the Layer States Manager window click on the New button

6. Under New layer state name enter: ALL & click OK

7. Expand the Layer States Manager window so you see the Layer properties to restore column on the left & make sure Select All is checked on all the toggle buttons:

8. Click the Export button and save All.las to a folder like Downloads where you can retrieve later.

9. Click the CLOSE button to dismiss the Layer States Manager window

10. Create a new drawing removing all proxy elements by entering at the command prompt: AECTOACAD

11. Hit Enter again and then at the command prompt enter the following name for the new drawing:

241218-Site_Development_Template-AECTOACAD

12. Enter OPEN command & select this newly created drawing to open.

Notice this drawing only contains 5 layers. But the two Dimension Styles: A2.5_P3_Anno & ISO-25 can now be purged and the Text Style: _Civil 3D Proposed is no longer there:

13. After those two Dimension Styles are purged return back to the Layer Properties Manager & click on the Layer States Manager icon again.

14. This time click on Import and at the bottom of the Import layer state window next to Files of type select from the dropdown list Layer states (*.las):

15. Now you should see the All.las file you Exported earlier under the Downloads folder. Select this file and click Open

16. At the Layer State - Successful Import window select the Restore states button:

17. The Layer Properties Manager window will now show all 1,372 layers along with all the status settings you had in the original dwg:
