I'm using C3D 2022, latest updates.

We use a separate dwg file for tag construction notes with tables that contain blocks with text attributes and recently noticed the text shifts in the file which they have been xrefed to. A reload of the xref corrects it on screen, but plot preview results in the shift again. In plot preview the shift is larger. It will print with shift as well.

First pic is the shift in cad, second is after reloading xref, third is plot preview. See how the text shifts again.

I think it's something to do with the block with an attribute in a table. I've tried many different ways to get the shifting to stop or minimize to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks

Are you permitted to share your file (with content of table cleared out except for key note bubbles), as well as the xref with the blocks?

Is AutoCAD using the exact same font as in the original block, or is a different (similar-looking) one being substituted?

Thanks for the reply @nrz13, maybe this will help.

I should note that we've not had any issues until 2022 release. We did quite a leap from 2018.

Font doesn't seem to effect the issue either....I've tried several.

I've done a bit more trouble-shooting and determined it's the combo of the blocks and fields in the table.

If I remove ALL field sources, the block attribute text in the circle will not shift...this is a clue, but that not a solution since my fields are not connected to anything. (pic 1)

If I use only fields (no blocks) and manually place a circle on the numbers in the left column, no shifting occurs, but the circles will need to be moved/placed manually as notes change. I tested it by alternating the method: rows 1 & 3 are only fields with manually placed circles, no blocks or attributes. (pics 2 & 3)

Here are a couple files pared down to only what is needed to tinker with. Notes file gets reference in the sheet file typically.

I appreciate any input.

For now, I've created individual blocks for each number, this seems to remedy any shifting issue, but adds blocks. At least they are miniscule blocks.

I think it may just be a problem with your table, not the program. When I insert our numbered marks into your table, the text is offset when printing as well. However, when I insert our blocks into one of our tables, the text aligns correctly.

I tested the cell alignment in your tables, but it doesn't seem to have any bearing on it. As a test, I'd create a new table to see if that resolves the issue for you.

AutoCAD 2025 and we're still having this issue.

We use tables for key notes and the text in one column has fields for sheet number and/or detail numbers from SSM.

A hexagon with attributes in another column.

Xref this into a sheet and attributes are skewed off-center. Remove the fields and the issue goes away.

Seriously Autodesk!!
