Hyperlink in pdf on mobile device

Hi!

My client has a unique request. They're looking for a pdf (generated by me via AutoCAD) that contains a hyperlink that can be accessed via a mobile device. Works beautifully on a desktop/laptop, example pdf provided. Any ideas on how to make this work on a phone or tablet? Must function in the field to be a success. I realize this is most likely an Adobe issue, not an AutoCAD issue. Many thanks!

That would have to be a function in the PDF viewer on the mobile device I believe.

If it works on a pdf through a PC browser then it would work on a mobile device too. We did a similar thing for COVID screening where workers had to scan a code then input for a questionnaire. No issues clicking the link on the phones.

Did you attach the right pdf because there are no hyperlinks in the attached one from what I see.

Interesting! Were your pdfs emailed? Opened in the phone or tablet's native method or via Adobe Acrobat viewer mobile? Any chance you could share one? Thank you!

And yes, my links are there, just tiny. They're just under the numbers. One goes to Google and the other heads to Autodesk. My client specifically doesn't want to see the link text. They're looking for a "hidden" link for people to be able to click on the numbered dots and report something. Thank you!

Hi Trisha,

I did this at the start of Covid so I'm trying to remember the exact steps I followed. But we had a QR code that workers would take a picture of and it would automatically redirect them to a site with some hyperlinks they could click if needed (had procedures etc.).

I think the issue, like pendean mentioned, is that the hyperlink boxes are too small. On a mobile device it won't detect it.

Try increasing the size to be the whole number circle and that would likely work.

UPDATE:

No dice. Even tried it this way (please see attached pdf). These links are attributes for these blocks. I thought for sure if they were this big they'd work, but neither Acrobat nor Apple's email downloading it worked. Any other ideas?
