How to choose quickly one single snap mode I need while drawing

Hi everyone,

While drawing line/pline, I wan to choose quickly the single object snap mode I need, i.e: perpendicular snap

Could you please let me know how to achieve it in the most efficient way?

Quickest way to to do that without going back into the snap menu is to simply type it out (while your command is active). In your case; Perpendicular can be called out by typing PER.

Same goes for any other rarely used snap that is needed once in a while.

The non-typing way is to do either Ctrl+right-click or Shift+right-click, and pick it from the list that pops up.

Add Tool bar "Object Snap" to the screen and pick ur reqd. snap easily

If you have multiple running snaps available, you can hit tab to cycle through them until the desired snap icon is displayed.

Here's another approach. This has worked very well for me for many years. It is simply a matter of creating a few very simple lisp "macros". See the attached .gif. This is most effective if you store your macros in a file that is part of the Startup Suite, via the APPLOAD command. Referring to the attached .gif, with the example file loaded, you only need to enter "4" at the command line and center snap will be active. Likewise, "2" is midpoint snap, "16" is quadrant & "5" is a combination of end & center. Look at your Osnap dialogue, pick a few options, then, after exiting, type OSMODE and you will see a number corresponding to the osnaps chosen. In this way you can further customize your .lisp file the way you like it.
