Hello Everyone,

I am brand new to the Auto cad program and have little to no experience with using it. I was recently hired working in the engineering department at my company and am looking to add to my skill set. Long story short I am looking for training for beginners like myself, any help would be awesome. I have read on the Auto desk website and see there are many levels including and Associate, Professional, and Expert.

Ask within your company about training courses, or peers that are willing to guide you through the basics, that's the best approach.

Next would be to sign up for instructor-led classes to get through the core basics that you just need to know and be shown how to do it. This can be online or through a local college, you decide what works best for you.

Good luck with your new opportunities.

Your company might have training resources for you. Telecom has more advanced software available on top of AutoCAD. It might be advantageous to steer towards that platform.

Hi Timothy. Good to hear that you are interested in AutoCAD. AutoCAD is a great way to begin learning basic CAD skills and from there you can eventually move up to other programs if you find the need.

I always recommend https://www.mycadsite.com/tutorials.html - it is free despite the option on this page to "Buy Full Class". the Tutorials will really help you begin understanding basic concepts and then build on them until you begin to master various tasks.

Other than that I also recommend bookmarking AUGI.com, join for free and begin digging into their training resources - but most of them are geared for users who have some basics under their belts.

Autodesk forums, as you have seen, is about the best place to ask for guidance.

I also like http://www.theswamp.org - they provide a lot of help as you advance in your understanding.

Welcome to the CAD world!
