After restarting my machine I use AutoCAD 2023 without any problems. I leave my computer running over night so that I can resume what I am doing the next day, however AutoCAD regularly stops and task manager says it is not responding. If I reboot then the problem goes away. This installation is freshly installed a few days ago. i recently upgraded from 2018 and it had the same problem. Any help?

Thanks,

Alan

I have had my machine reinstalled and AutoCAD 2023 installed. Machine is happy left on with no notable slow down. There was obviously a gremlin in my machine 🙂

Yeah, obviously. Now you can continue to risk losing work because you're afraid of losing your place.

Shutting down the computer when not in use not only is good for the computer but it clears the temporary memory and improves performance. It also is a vary effective way to protect it from any potential threats while you are away.

Could be anything NOT AutoCAD as well.

I have a motherboard BIOS update that I did a few months ago and even without any apps running, it would freeze overnight (most nights, not always).

Best practices as mentioned - close your files at the end of the day.

(also, if you log out of Windows, that will allow Windows to do any auto-updates over night so it won't bother you during the day)
