How to add SNAP and GRID to bottom ribbon

I need SNAP/GRID buttons on my bottom ribbon, however it was disappeared yesterday.
How can I add it back to the ribbon and why it's disappearing sometimes?

Bottom ribbon? Do you mean the Statusbar?

Click on the button at the lower right corner with the 3 horizontal lines (hamburger ;D ).

You can add/remove statusbar items there.

Pick on the three-horizontal-bars "hamburger" icon at far lower right, and a list pops up in which you can check which things you want shown.

I did it multiple time, but the SNAP and GRID are disappeared from here.

@syanchuck Wondering if a screenshot of your entire fully-maximized program bottom-half showing it from end to end would give us more clues as to your issue.

Go ahead and make sure ABOUT command's pop-up is fully visible in that same screenshot.

Snap and Grid doesn't make sense IN PAPERSPACE,

so go to MODEL and check it again.

I do have it on Model Space, however it does make sense for me to have on my Paper Space as well.

@syanchuck Your screen resolution is too low to show everything: are you running on a 13.3" monitor or at 1024x768 perhaps?

Turn off the buttons you do not need at the bottom instead of having everything on, that should solve your problem with hat display setting.

Curious you did not notice to ask about the masked panels at the top either. Not there yet?

Then it works well and as designed! It is usual to NOT have it while in paperspace!

GRID and SNAP are Modelview features only, so it doesn't make sense to have the buttons while in paperspace.

Sorry to say that, but: They where never there (while in paperspace)

Switch to MODEL tab or jump into a viewport (command MSPACE), where GRID&SNAP is an available feature

and the buttons will appear.

I just remembered it was removed (in Paperspace) from status bar , however, these were probably just the status bar buttons and not the function.

It was just a wrong assumption and I couldn't test it at the moment 😧 (for usual I don't use them in layouts for my daily w)

I honestly have no idea how to 'force' the icons in the drawing aids bar while in paperspace, but you can always activate them with the F7 and F9 button. Or type the DSETTINGS command to open the draft settings dialog if you wish to edit them while in paperspace.

@cadffm Snap and Grid commands are available in both paper and modelspace and have different settngs for each. F9 will toggle the respective snap settings for each mode. F7 will toggle the respecitve grid settings for each mode.

@syanchuck I'd never noticed that the snap status indicators disappeared in paper space. Thanks for noticing. Looks intentionaly on Autodesk's part though.

I will say that, from past experience, it can be bad to have grid on simultaneously in both paper and model spaces. Snap in paper space can be handy periodically in laying out viewports though, especially to leave room for titles.

I don't know what is usual, but I have clear client's instruction to work certain sheets on the Paper Space.
I don't know what your opinion based on, but it does make a big sense for me to use the functions on the Paper space.

I have to use F7 and F9 unfortunately instead of the bottom ribbon buttons.

because I have to work sometimes in Snap Off mode, then sometimes in SNAP On, I can't visually see the mode status, only play with the mouse. It is not comfortable for me, sorry...

This is not a full list: are you really running full AutoCAD and without any add-ins or a completely customized menu?

It's okay and you can use it (has already been explained), but it doesn't change how the program acts.

Above you can read my current state of knowledge, which no one else has disproved, is described above:
It looks usual for AutoCAD(since2015) not to display the buttons while in paper space.

Use GRID SNAP or [F7] [F9], but the status bar buttons are not displayed in a clean DWG (without corrupt data structure) in your AutoCAD.

[F7][F9] state: You can add two buttons in the ribbon or you can (only)show the state to the Statusbar as Test!
