Find and replace text

Hi!

I need to replace text in autoCAD drawings with reference from excel. (i.e I have a excel with values in column 1 (existing value in drawing) and column 2 (value to be changed in drawing against value in column 1). I can used Find command from AutoCAD but i wish to know if there exist any macro (Either LISP or VBA) as i have multiple AutoCAD drawings and various fields in excel

Depending on your AutoCAD version ( AutoCAD 2023 ) .. I don't know if Macro insights will help you . >> Click <<

If you do an internet search for "autocad find command without dialog box", the first link has a program that can be used written for R12 or later. It shouldn't be too hard to rewrite it to access the excel list.

I don't think MyInsights is of any help. I downloaded version 2023 today, and I think only after spending considerable time it will suggest macro's.

Inititally I thought as with Excel, we can record a macro with AutoCAD as well and see the code, but that's not the case.

Is the website safe and secure? It looks good but I doubt it, I can share these with my lead or IT team but I someway feel it is suspicious (With data protection and all). Clarification on your part would be appreciated.

Then the Microsoft site is the most dangerous for you, they get all the data about you, are you afraid of them too?
The programs are a commercial product and are much better protected than your organization's website and your mail.

You might check the DBTRANS command from the TRANS add-on LISP app - it performs a vocabulary-based (e.g. Excel) translation of drawing texts. See:
