Assuming the entire drawing only has the reclaimer then one way is to xref the reclaimer drawing into another drawing and then make copies rotated in whatever position you want....another way is to make it into a dynamic block with all the various rotations built-in to the block.

HI all,

I am trying to find a way that Autocad can save the state of a model in various stages of rotation. I have a model of a reclaimer that can slew to various positions and I would like to have these positions saved in one file.

Thanks

Hi,

I suggest to use paper space layout .. there you can rotate and keep all of your cases .. just make viewports and rotate your model as you wish .. also those new viewports will not effect to your model space .

How are you intending to use the "one file"? You could, for example, if it's just to show the possible rotations for viewing somehow, define the thing into a Block, and INSERT that at all the stages of rotation you want, in different locations [all in a row, rows and columns, or whatever]. Or you could INSERT it at all stages of rotation, all in the same place, and make the whole thing into a Dynamic Block with a Visibility State for each rotation, so you can INSERT that into other drawings and use any of the possible rotations just by choosing the desired Visibility State. Or you could, if it's for something like pages in a catalog showing the rotation options, INSERT it at all stages of rotation, all in the same place, on different Layers, and use Paper Space Viewports [with catalog heading information, etc.] with Layer-freezing of all Layers but one in each Viewport. Or you could....
