Thanks for the DWG file @ali.bernardeschi

1) your file opens on a floor plan that is TOO FAR away from 0,0,0

2) your DWG file is in mm units: are you really drawing and dimensioning rooms in millimeters, then fudging the dimensions to show meters?

There are many issues in your file that need addressing.

i don't know why but patterns don't work on the model, everytime i choose one it visualizes on the model as solid. I tried many ways to solve the problem, changing the values of hpmaxlines, restarting the programme and even downloading it on another device, but no changes happened. I don't know how to do pls help.

(i have autocad 2023 version)

No, we can't -- there are no Hatch patterns in the drawing. What pattern are you trying to use, and in what area(s)? I am able to call for a non-Solid pattern and have it preview correctly in closed areas.

Thanks for your CAD dwg ..

You have a problem with your UCS icon and general orientation for your drawing .. Your issue will resolved if :

Type in command line UCS command then type W from World option .

Type PLAN command then double enter .

Try now to hatch , any changes ?

I don't think that can be it. I simply opened the drawing, and did this Hatch in it [the yellow], without doing anything at all about the Coordinate System or Plan view. After picking a non-Solid pattern in the Hatch ribbon [in this case ANSI32, and at a small scale factor], it previewed correctly when I floated my cursor in that area.

Thank you for the answer, I know about the issues but it's my first time using autocad for an uni exam so I'm still learning how it works. I solved by copying all elements into another dwg file to start again and now all hatch patterns work!
