AutoCAD - Cut/Split an object by using line object..

I'm kinda new in Autocad and I was wondering if there is any chance to use line to cut/split objects (ex. rectangle)?

Puedes cortar usando la función Break at Point

Pirmero pones click en el comando y luego presionas click en las intersecciones.

Since you're working with 2d object,Click on below image to see how by TRIM command you will cut the rectangle by using a line.

If you want to stay the closed shape as a closed shape, here another possibility to get it.

[There is some ambiguity about your desired result, as you can see from the different replies.]

Another possible end result: If you want to have the areas on both sides of the Line as closed objects, you can use BOUNDARY or BPOLY and pick inside each area.

The grip-editing approach [if that gets the desired end result] can be done in one fewer steps, by Adding one vertex and simply Moving another, rather than Adding two and then Removing the one in between.

Undoubtedly outside the scope of the OP’s request, but this linked thread introduces and automated (VBA) routine to speed up the process of slicing closed Polylines and Regions.

I’m mainly posting it here to enjoy a bit of nostalgia – self-serving as it may be.

That old VBA code does still work up to AutoCAD 2016, at least, and may work beyond that. Regardless of its compatibility, though, there will be upfront effort to set the VBA environment, as well as some CUI work to get the routine more user-friendly.
