Issue with layer colouring

I created a dxf from a group of layers in QGIS, and brought this into AutoCad 2023 and saved as a DWG. Every layer shows black on the model view but is red under layer properties. When I try to change the colour of the layers they remain black. Am I missing something obvious?

Have you tried setting all the object colors to ByLayer?

If blocks are involved you would need to edit each of them and set all the objects colors in each block to ByBlock.

Your attached image will not help us to get your error .. you can just attache here a part from your drawing as a CAD dwg for testing?

@ianmMJ2Z2 you have the wrong pop-up open to solve your issue (or to understand the issue too): instead of LAYER, that should be PROPERTIES command pop-up, and all of your 'black' content needs to be selected so you actually understand what those elements are set to for sure.

If you are still unsure after all of that is in front of you, then share the new screenshots here.
