AutoCAD - Smoothing a spline

Hello guys,

I have read a bunch of different posts but I couldn't solve my "easy" problem.

How am I supposed to do smooth this out?

Spline edit command doesn't do anything...

You may need to use the Fit method. Would you please attache here your CAD dwg for testing?

@tecnicoKJFRK What did you try in SPLINEDIT command and how did it not work exactly?
OR what did you expect it to look like?

Or is that NOT a spline to start with? Your commandline will tell you if there is an error too.

It's impossible to tell from the image you posted what you have. For example, it could be a polyline that has been splined, or even 2 or 3 polylines, or a spline object. A polyline spline will default to 8 segments for display purposes although the database will define a smooth curve. Post the file and you'll get better suggestions to smooth the curve.

It's actually 3 lines.
The command didn't do anything, I tried all of them in the list...

I suggest to start use SPLINE command and see if it's really help you .

SPLINEDIT command only works on SPLINE objects, not three lines or three anything else.

So you started SPLINEDIT command, selected one of the lines, and the commandline (if you looked at it) said "OBJECT IS NOT A SPLINE". What id you want it to do instead? Explain.

OR...

Where you hoping for a quick way to convert LINEs to SPLINEs instead of actually drawing a SPLINE? Was that your intent?
Or where you having difficulties drawing a SPLINE through those points?

Or perhaps you just needed to draw a PLINE through those points then PEDIT that instead?

Let us know your intent, what you drew is not what you asked about.

I'll assume that you want to create a smooth curve that is defined by the end points of the red lines. Since the lines are not on the z = 0.0 XY plane I would first define a UCS that is coplanar to the geometry.

Set the ucs to the geometry.
Set osnap to Endpoint
Define a layer for the spline (I set it to yellow).
Use spline, Method, Fit to create a spline that passes through the endpoints of the lines. Also use the top endpoint of the vertical line for a fit point. Note, in general I like to minimize the number of fit points to ensure a smoother curves. Too many fit point can present unwanted undulations.
This is a first draft of the curve. We now want to adjust it. Execute the splinedit command then Edit, Add and add a CV near the top.
Enter X four times to accept the added CV and exit the command.
Since a CV of the spline has been modified you can now simply select the spline and click on a CV to move it. Move a few CVs to get the spline to a shape you like. For example,
The bottom of the shape has a small radius.

Using splinedit add a couple of CVs as needed and adjust their location as needed.
Here's the final smoothed spline (yellow).
