AutoCAD - Import data link table from excel with table style

Hello,

I need to import a table from excel with a data link and to use a table style already defined. The most important thing that I need is when I import the table, the columns width should be as defined in table style.

From what I saw you can either insert the table with the table style but you can't take the values from excel to add them into this table or you can insert the table from data link but I will not have the columns width as defined in the table style.

If anyone knows how to combine the both method or how to import tables from excel with a different columns width please let me know. The columns width varies from 9 to 43 autocad units.

Thanks

I would definitely make the inserted table comply with a specific Table Style. You can make the column width of your table style a reasonable width even though it might not be the perfect. You can re-establish the column width manually.

No, unfortunately I don't want to just link the table, I also need the table to be with different columns width. If I just link the table then I need to specify almost each columns the width and I have many tables to link.

Like I said, there's no parameter to vary the column width. You may, however, try using Paste Special to paste an Excel formatted group of cells as a 'table' but that specific table won't be a Table Style.

<<BTW, just like there are Mleader 'Styles' and Mtext 'Styles' there are also Table 'Styles.' If you don't apply a 'Style' then your Mleader/Mtext/Table will default to the not-so-nice Standard style.>>

You can change from Standard Table Style to your personal Table Style but when doing so you'll need to adjust the column widths individually since those widths will likely vary from column-to-column. Try as you might and re-explain as you might, there's no setting to control the various widths within a table style. Even though there may be a need for that type of control, there's no way to adjust column width other than manually.
