AutoCAD 2023 - Plot Style Not Showing Up

I'm doing some homework for school that requires me to switch the plot style we are using to access the "Page Setup Manager" on the "Layout 1" page. I change the plot style on the "Plot Style Table" to "Use named plot styles" and acad.stb then close the drawing and go to a new drawing (Following the instructions in the book we have). The problem is when I go to the new drawing in the "Properties" tab the plot style should go from "By Color" to " By Layer", but it isn't. I'm also unable to select the "Page Setup Manager" at the bottom and I don't know what to do. How do I fix it?

There seem to be some disconnect with what you are writing are the steps you follow, and what those commands and settings actually do (or at least for me in AutoCAD), especially between the file you modified and what appears to be an unrelated "new file".

Are you by chance not using plain AutoCAD (the topic of this forum)?
OR... you are using AutoCAD for MAC?

What book are you following if I may ask?

That works for other versions, the 2023 version has no "plotter" in the Roaming folders. Even though it is one of the folders that are called from the Printers Support File Path, as in previous versions.

Please let me know if there is anything that I should install in order to be able to config the plotter styles.
