Hardcopy Documentation from Various Versions of AutoCAD

Hi Everyone,

I've been a long time user of AutoCAD, although my use is pretty infrequent. Over the years I have saved all of the hard copy documentation (and all of the installation media from the 3-1/2" floppy days).

I am making an effort to downsize a little in my office. These manuals are some of the things I was considering letting go of. I figure that there might be value to someone.

Has anyone else attempted to sell their old manuals/documentation? I hate to think about just sending everything to recycle.

I've attached a pic that shows most of them on one shelf. I've actually got most of the manuals from the program editions of the 1990s; they are not shown in this picture.

Hi,

In general, the book has become a strange thing with the presence of the Internet and search engines. Like you, I have books and I do not know where to go with them because I am emotionally attached to them, as I sat for months reading them. Ultimately, I think recycling is where they are going.

Thanks for your thoughts. I think I was one of the last adopters of digital documentation... I always enjoyed holding and reading the manuals. As you comment, those are things of the past.

Don’t get too attached (or remain emotionally attached) to those old books They’re outdated. If you, yourself are considering letting them go, it’s unlikely anyone else would need them either.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, someone else might still be running one of those old versions (really?) but C’mon….selling them?! Make those users running antiquated versions happy. Just give them away.
