Problem printing Acad 2007 with cute pdf writer

Hi there,

Just started encountering an issue with printing to cute pdf. I go through the process and in the printer screen it comes up saying 'spooling' then quickly moves onto 'printing' but before the 'save as' dialogue comes up it flicks to 'deleting' and then disappears without producing my pdf document! This has just started happening - it worked fine a couple days ago - not sure what has changed on my machine...

That's a problem with your pdf driver: a PC restart may fix it.
If not, remove it from your system, restart your PC, reinstall it or get another PDF driver, try again.

Thanks, I have uninstalled my old 3.2 (I think) version and downloaded and installed the new 4.something - still same problem.

are you able to get a successful pdf printed with cute pdf on other windows apps?

Yes, I can print to PDF on other apps (word/excel etc)

If you start a blank dwg with nothing in it and you plot to cute pdf does it still not work?

you may also consider searching for another pdf printer that may still work on your Windows OS and give that a try.

I have currently just uninstalled cute pdf writer and am going to re-install it. What are other PDF printers you could advise me about?

You’ll have to search online to see if there are other free pdf printers available still for your OS. I’ve used the not so free Adobe Acrobat pdf printer. Also I recall AutoCAD 2007 had a service pack 2 that corrected plot errors. Not sure if you have that installed. Autodesk don’t have this to download from their website any more. You can try this one if you need it but no guarantees that it’s not virus free

I have managed to solve the problem. I ended up uninstalling all forms of cute pdf (i had the new version and the old version at various points with different converter programmes!) , then i did a reboot and installed the older version of cute pdf writer and so far it seems to be working! Thanks for your help advice and support - i really appreciate it and your time 🙂
