Looks like you can use Polyline-diet .lsp from Kent Cooper.

Hi everyone,

Looking for a bit of help with AutoCAD - I am new to using it (just trialling the software to see if it can do what I need) so there may be an easy answer to my problem.

I have imported an image created in Inkscape (I need to export the file to CNC to cut shape and Inkscape file creates over 3,000 start points which takes too long to cut) - and then I used PEDIT - Join to smooth out all the nodes that Inkspace created.

This seemed to do the job as it looked to have created one path for each 'shape', however when I sent it out to the CNC, there were something like 40,000 lines instead of the 4-5 lines that it should have.

Looking back into AutoCAD I believe has something to do with all these endpoints in attached picture.

Anyone know how to smooth out/remove all the extra end points to each shape can be cut with one movement on CNC instead of multiple lines.

Especially for the optimization of CNC contours, there is a plug-in Outside Loop (OSL) that does all this work automatically in 1 click and immediately with all contours. This program will turn all curves into polylines, remove intersections and gaps, reduce the number of segments within the specified tolerance, separate the outer contour from the inner ones into different layers, and do some very useful work.

You can also use the simpler ASimp command, which only simplifies polylines.
