Markup Import won't recognize black pen marks?

Is there a trick to getting markup import to recognize black pen marks? I've used multiple pens on different pages to test, but with no luck.

"black" in AutoCAD is one of those dual-color things, is yours by chance just changing to "white"?

I don't see any screenshots for us to see what you see, maybe that's the next reply you share here.

When importing a markup, the trace will show this box around markups from our field crews, but if the ink the pen used was black, the import tool doesn't seem to recognize it. I've tested with different pens and it doesn't seem to be an issue with it being too faint on the scanned paper.
