If, for whatever reason, you must make modelspace 1/8”=1’-0” then you must add the annotative scale named 1/2”=1’-0” to those dimensions. To add, select all dimensions, go to Properties Palette then add the 1/2”=1’-0” scale to your dims.

Drawing annotative scale within viewport

I use annotative dimensions and text in my drawings. When drawing in model space, everything comes out to the correct scale as long as I have the drawing set to the correct scale. My problem is when I'm drawing within a viewport. The viewport is set to a certain scale, like 1/2"=1'-0", but when I draw a dimension, the scale of that dimension is at 1/8"=1'-0" which is what is set in model space. I use AutoCAD 2023 currently but I've seen it in the 2020 version as well. Is there a variable that I need to change or what could be causing this to happen. It's only been a recent issue for me and others in out drafting team. I have attached a screenshot of my viewport that is set to 1/2" but the annotative dimension is at 1/8"
