Is there a way to change the basepoint of a block while keeping the block in place?

You can do it al day long with this free add-in from the Autodesk App Store https://apps.autodesk.com/ACD/en/Detail/Index?id=1203146290307485351&appLang=en&os=Win32_64

or grab the free LISP of the same name from that same author listed on that page above from their own website.

Pendean, the second option here is my usual route, though when relocating the entire block to the origin then saving, the block shifts its position that distance from where it was edited from. It looks like the first option may solve this.
