How to select multiple nodes of a poly line to delete?

This is another puzzling one. I find I can select individual nodes one buy one with a "shift+click" is there any way to lasso these to get a few in one shot? Im used to be able to remove a select number of nodes in other programs. Any insight is always apprecaited! while were at it move and delete would be nice. If a line has 25 nodes and I want to select a few of em, is there only way to manual shift click ea one?

The image you posted appears to be an object (a polyline, presumably) that has been selected and then a few grips have also been "selected".

When you use the Shift-click, you're actually selecting grips, which happen to coincide with "nodes" of the polyline (in this case). Once these grips are selected, what is your intent? Do you want to delete the nodes that correspond to the selected grips? Whether you select the grips one at a time or with a lasso, how would you delete the nodes?

Forgive me as my terminology from other softwares blurrs the line. I can at times right click and delete the vertex. Actually this is a hatch with vertex/nodes going around an area. I just want to detete the internal nodes so that the hatch fills in. Yes I know I can delete and re hatch. Probably easier in this instance. Often you can right click and delete Vertex, but I cant select a batch of vertext with a lasso it seems?

Sometimes tho its a polyline with a series of select nodes I may want to delete or move without having to redraw something in its entirety.

Now (I think) I understand better.

You'll notice that it is the selecting of the Hatch object (which turns on the grips - when they are enabled - but doesn't actually select them) that gives you the ability to stretch, add or remove a selected vertex (via the little context menu that flies out). Once you select a grip (or more), you no longer get the context menu because adding/removing vertices is not a valid function of grips. (That's my take.)

Only options that come to mind are to either trim and join or pedit and straighten.

I have discovered using a lasso marquee I can select a set of nodes and then run the stretch command to move those nodes only. Hopefully someone finds this helpful!

Many selection options with stretch command, but not for deleting polyline nodes.
