Command Line string

I am trying to paste a string in the command line. The following use to work.

Now it sets the cursor position, text size, rotation angle.

Then waits for me to manually enter text. I want it to past "My Text Here".

-Text 3.5068380277659,43.3146116396603 1.5 82.4077777777778 My Text Here

What has changed???

Just tested it manually and it worked, only thing I can think of is you need to put another carriage return at the end? Is this in a script or you just put it in manually?

So it doesn't put the text in? Or it does and it just waits for you to press enter?

I paste the above script in the command line. Hit Enter

Rotation angle of text <82>: 82.40

(It's waiting and I enter some text 1234,etc) and Enter key twice. 1234 appears on screen

You originally stated that you preceded the TEXT command with a hyphen: -TEXT

Now your new example shows that you are preceding the TEXT command with an underscore: _TEXT

Try what you had originally posted by copy and pasting using a hyphen to precede the TEXT command and not an underscore:

-Text 3.5,6.2 15 82.40 My Text Here

I had to do a ZOOM Extents afterwards and then I saw My Text Here:

If you forget to copy the linebreak ro enter your textvalue, sure.

It's already done (if your textstyle has height >0), or already paste in the commandline (but not send)

That's another command. Don't switch to another one during one and the same topic, without pointing to

-TEXT is the command you wrote about and which you should use.

Dash, not underscore, seems to work 100% of the time (plus an extra "return" after your words), so...

Thanks - You are correct. Tried on different machine and it does work with a hyphen.

Perhaps need to reinstall ACAD.

So are you saying even with the hyphen the text command doesn’t work on your machine only?

Instead of uninstalling try resetting your AutoCAD
