Issue While Converting 2D Profile Drape into 3D Solid in AutoCAD

Our workflow is as follows:
We extracted top and bottom elevation values for each layer of the profile drape.
Along the alignment, we generated offset values at every 2m interval.
For each point, we have X, Y, and Z values.
The Z values are obtained from the 2D polyline using the corresponding X and Y coordinates.
However, while converting the 2D profile into a 3D solid, the software is not supporting the operation and the extrusion/solid generation is failing.

After looking at the image, I suspect the solution lies in the UCS orientation. It would be helpful if you could send the drawing itself so we can assist you better.

Rather than deal with a 3dpoly with an excessive number of verticies (>6000) representing both sides of the drape create a spline with a dozen or so fit points for one side of the drape edge. Extrude the spline and use thicken to create a solid.

I used the Excel data to create two 3Dpolies then lofted a surface between them. Thicken was then used to make a solid. Is this the result you want? I think extrude of a non-planar surface was what was giving you a problem.

The attached file also has a solid created by lofting a spline. The spline's tolerance is about 0.05. You could get better fit if necessary by using more fit points to define the spline. I prefer going the spline route as it yields more efficient models but the 3dpoly works!

It wasn't clear what to do with the dwg files you posted.

Exactly What I expected that you have done. Could you please tell me Step by step procedure. How did you do Lofted surface for closed 2D profile and thickened.
I tried loft for both Surface and Solid but it's working only for outer line not taking for 3D volume.

In my post #6 I was able to use your excel data to create 2 3dpoly's. One for the bottom of the drape and the other for the top. Loft was then used to make a surface that made into a solid with thicken. It's not clear what "closed" 2d profile you are referring to and how it should be used.

If so, how does this apply to the long 3dpoly's .

Your drawing LOFT contains five 3dpoly's. Two of them appear to be offsets of 4.5 in the same plane. There are no "bottom" and "top" drape pairs that can be used for lofting. It's not clear how you want to use these 3dpoly's to create a drape that has a top and bottom that have varying heights. Note, you do not need the offset poly. Thicken by 4.5 will give you that.

Please post a file with one pair of 3dpoly's that define a single drape.

Sorry it's not like top of the drape and bottom of the drape.

Workflow to created Closed profile drape
1. Enter 3Dpoly in AutoCAD
2. copy excel data and paste into 3Dpoly and
3. Enter close option.

After that one closed profile will be created that profile, we are trying to do extrude into 3D solid but it's not working. I tried UCS change into view for that also same its working for outline of the closed profile drape.
Please find the attached video for your reference may be that helps you to understand that how we created closed profile drape.

Loft from a top curve to a bottom curve then thicken. You cannot extrude a non-planar shape.

What's the difference between step 1 and 2 in your workflow.

It's still unclear how the above drawing relates to the 3dpoly's in your drawing. I'm missing something in your explanation.

I used Command Surfacepatch and Thicken now its converted into 3D solid.
