Why merge them at all? What I have learned over the years is that my custom content works best as a partial customization file. This means that it only contains its own content, and is loaded in addition to the default cui file. You can get ribbons to load automatically. It might not be super simple though to modify the ootb right click menus, but can be done.

Hi everyone, i'm new on this forum and i've searched many many hours for an answer without any luck.

I'm working at a new company which uses very old methods and configurations. They have a custom CUI that has a "linked" custom pop-menu that leads to blocks, just like this :

I've been working with ribbons and contextual state ribbons since forever and i'm having trouble to switch back to old interface without any of these states.

I've managed so far to "add" most of the features of the original CAD Cui to the firm's custom CUI and most of the autocad original interface seems to be back, with the custom menu still functionning as it should.

But this method doesn't allow me to have the contextual ribbon states to work. Some of them are there, but they seem incomplete and don't "activate" when in context. I've tried to drag and drop them to my main customization but i get a red "blocked/refused" circle and it doesn't let me drag in the contextual tab states.

I've tried the opposite (merging the custom CUI to the original CAD cui). Then all the interface works but then it's the custom pop menu that shows empty like this :

Please can someone help me with this
