Correct. I normally type it, but decided to do the drop down per your comment and get an error message as shown in the image attached.

Hello.

When I'm trying to locate specific text in an AutoCAD drawing, I will use the "FIND" command and have never had an issue. But today, it's not working and when I type in the command, what shows is what is in the image attached. How to I fix this to go back to the regular "FIND" command? Thanks in advance.

Using AutoCAD 2022 version.

Possibility #1: arx file missing

make sure you have in your acad program folder the following file: textfind.arx

at AutoCAD command line enter this to check:

(findfile"textfind.arx")

If AutoCAD returns nil that means that file has been erased.

It should be found under your autocad program folder like:

"C:\\Program Files\\Autodesk\\AutoCAD 2024\\textfind.arx"

If it is found, then enter the following at the command line to manually load it:

(arxload"textfind.arx")

If load is successful, then the FIND command should work.

Possibility #2: arx file corrupted

If load is unsuccessful, it's possible that file got corrupted. You can try and get a copy of the file from another computer where the FIND command works.

Possibility #3: UNDEFINE

Another possibility is the command got UNDEFINEd

So use the REDEFINE command and enter FIND to bring it back
