2020 - dimension text edit issue

2020, new drawing.

Dimension style settings:

- Alternate Units = ON and below primary value.

- Overall Scale = 0.1

Draw a dimension line.

Edit dimension text => the alternate unit text is shifted from center.

This happens only when Overall Scale < 1

Can anyone confirm this?

Can you provide us with a drawing with these dimension lines? Or a screenshot of the settings in the Dimension Style dialog window?

In the last 8 years I made 11 reports by support cases.

None were solved.

From what I post here, 3 posted were solved.

Mathematically it's infinite better here. 🙂

So no support cases anymore. Only on forum.

Is that what you're talking about? Does it work that way for you? If so, does it matter that part of it shifts during editing? If not, how does it behave differently?

Likewise if I put the edit afterwards:

For what it's worth, it won't allow me to put something between the main measurement text and the alternate units. And if I replace the actual measurement part with a text override, the alternate units disappear -- it can't calculate the alternate value from a text string, even if it represents a number.

That's unfortunate: from your many posts here though you seem to be having quite a few challenges with AutoCAD2026: is 2025 better behaved for you?

It's about the behavior at editing.

To confirm that this is a bug, change Overall Scale to 1.
No shifting.

The lower the value, the bigger the shift.

Thanks for sharing this on the forum. Based on your description, it appears that in multiple AutoCAD versions the Alternate Units text in the dimension is shifted from the center on editing. This behavior is reproducible. As a workaround, could you please try the following steps:

Select the affected text or dimension.
Open the Properties palette.
Set Text Rotation to an angle let's say 30.
Then change Text Rotation back to 0.

After applying these steps, the issue should no longer occur. Please let us know if this workaround resolves the behavior for you. If you have any additional questions or continue to experience the issue, feel free to follow up.
