autocad won't draw or move as it needs

I have a problem with my autocad. When I want to use the move tool or array base point or simply draw it starts working in a square, can't click on what I need because it won't let me. what's the best thing to do about this? I have autoCAD 2024

It sounds like you need to Reset AutoCAD to defaults:

I did try to set autocad to defaults but it didn't work

Does it still happen if after you've pressed F9? Could be a description of what happens when you have Grid Snap active.

If you have tried all the above suggestions without succes we might need more clues, can you give us a screen capture of the effect?
