I have two 3D solids. I have brought them together to intersect but need on solid to remove part of the other solid. I'm assuming Interfere is for that operation. However when I toggle "Delete interference objects created on Close" it does not remove the interference.

What am I doing wrong?

Well... I tried subtract first but it removed all of the other solid except where the two connected. Tried picking them in the opposite order and that didn't give me the results I was looking for either. Tried union but that left the part I want to remove.

Hi,

>> I tried subtract first but it removed all of the other solid except where the two connected

From my understanding you do have 2 parts and you want to connect them.

So make a copy of part A ==> result is you have A1 and A2

Then run command _SUBTRACT, select object B and then (to be subtracted) ==> A2

The result is Object B having a whole where it intersects with A + the object A

I hope I understood you correct and you can follow that workflow.

Yep, you can copy the red part and subtract it from object A and from object B (you'll have first to copy the parts).

But it's not clear for me how that would then be combined, because when you subtract your red part (from post 1) from both objects, from A and from B ... these objects will not hold together.

See and that's where the rub is. I'm learning. So I know I'm not doing it correctly but not sure what the command is I want to use to achieve the end result which is both parts combined with Part B being whole and Part A having a portion removed.
