Multiple Slice

Our machine cuts the holes in the pipes for the pickets (balusters) to fit into. The issue I am having is using the slice command for every picket. This particular rail has 45 pickets and it is very time consuming to do one at a time. Is there an option to do 'multiple?' Or would a macro be a better option?

(AutoCad 2023 - 3D Modeling) After clicking Slice command, I pick the part (the red pipe), I then choose Surface (the blue picket), then click the part I want to keep (the red pipe). The hole appears just fine. As I said above, very time consuming doing it individually.

... if they're 3D Solids. It looks like the pipe is a Surface instead, as well as the pickets being described that way.

My question to @j_winkleman : Is it really necessary to actually punch the holes? Can you just leave the pipe unperforated?

Our machine takes the 3D drawing and straightens the pipe. It not only cuts the ends and the holes but also marks where to start the bends. Having the pickets go into the pipes eliminates the need to weld the pickets. Saving a ton in labor.

I tried that earlier but it was not working. Started the drawing from scratch and worked fine. Had a dar dar moment. Thanks!

Could you create temporary solid cylinders with the same diameter as the picket pipe and use those to SUBTRACT?
