ATTACH Dialog Box is Missing

Dear all,

I'm a new guy to use Autocad.

I found that I'm missing a "Attach" Dialog box, How come?

I checked "FILEDIA", is <1>.

Please help.

Hi,

"ATTACH" dialog of what command?

What do you like to "attach", a DWG PDF JPG DWF XLS - what is it?

for example, command ATTACH

type in

ATTACH<Enter>

If you can't see a dialog to choose fileextenstion and file, it is offscreen and you can work on after [ESC] only.

Is that the case?

Start command ATTACH

press [ALT]+[SPACE]

hit [M]

hit one of the arrow-keys (not from the numpad)

and move your mouse

the dialog should follow your cursor

If your problem still exists with this command and any other ones ... I suggest to reset AutoCAD for default settings. >> Click <<

CMDDIA variable set to 1 as well? @autocad_035NVMP

Or does the program appear to be frozen when this pop-up is missing?

By Attach do you mean the External Reference Manager or possibly Insert. The Attach command on the command line does not open any Dialog box. It opens a browser to select a file.

AutoCAD-specific troubleshooting

Be sure that the FILEDIA and CMDDIA variables are each set to a value of 1. Type them in on the command line (separately) to check their current value, and set to 1, if necessary.
Reset AutoCAD to defaults: How to reset AutoCAD to defaults.
If this does not resolve the issue, fully uninstall and reinstall the affected Autodesk product: Clean uninstall of AutoCAD or verticals

Press the tilde symbol on the keyboard and then <Enter> to bring up a selection window
