GATTE not working for Attribute (with multiline enable)

GATTE command is not working for attributes with multiline enabled. is there any way to change all values for block attribute with multiline enabled?

Hi,

You may try FIND command and make sure Include block attributes is checked in the dialog box.

Hi @manickavasakam_selvam

Sorry, but your uploaded dwg didn't contain a BLOCK. You want to create an attributed block but you have completed only half the process.

Your drawing only had an attribute definition. So you've already used the command ATTDEF to create that attribute definition. Now go ahead and use BLOCK command to create your new block. Be sure to include your attribute definition. (You may also use WBLOCK command.)

In your drawing named test.dwg, do this:

For Pick Point left-click the geometric center of your rectangle.
For Objects select both your rectangle and your attribute definition, use a crossing window.
For Behavior select Scale Uniformly. The box labeled Annotative is optional, you may check it if you wish. I recommend to check the box.
OK to finish block creation.

Once your block(s) is properly created, you may try GATTE command.

Yeah I try to change all value in same attribute it is not working but it shows attributes changed.

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I create a block and export it as a WBlock so it shows like that. Sorry for trouble please use the test-1 file from my first reply and refer the video I shared in my second replay.

You need to change or overwrite the attribute in your block. Select your block then overwrite the attribute's value in the Properties Palette.

You may also select multiple blocks and overwrite their attribute in the Properties Palette.

But I have my block in different layouts (It's my Title block). so, I can't select all of them at same time.

Hi @manickavasakam_selvam

You have several options.

OPTION 1

Go to the master file of your titleblock. Take the titleblock to the Block Editor and change the attribute so it's correct. Exit block editor making sure you save the changes when exiting. From this point forward, whenever you use this revised titleblock, the new attribute value will be displayed.

*Also, make sure you do not re-name the block, keep the existing name. You may now re-insert this NEW titleblock to any drawing that is using the OLD titleblock. Since your titleblock still has the name, AutoCAD will ask you if you want to 'Redefine' the block (redefine=replace). Yes, you want to replace the OLD block with the NEW one.

OPTION 2

Open the block in in the Block Editor. Change the Default to the desired value. Whenever you use this edited block, the default value will be automatically displayed. You may also overwrite the default if you wish to display a different attribute value. You may overwrite the default in any dwg where your titleblock is being used.

OPTION 3

Don't use an attribute. You may use attributes anywhere within your titleblock but you don't have to necessarily have to use an attribute. For a piece of TEXT that will remain the same, then you may simply use mtext, not an attribute. In the future, you may edit the mtext in the block editor if needed (delete it or replace that mtext with an attribute).

Thank you. From my understanding, there is no way to do it like the GATTE command. If a way is found in the future, please let me know.
